    IconicA® [Retinal (Retinaldehyde)]

    Retinol must first be converted into retinaldehyde by our skin and subsequently converted into retinoic acid before it is used to combat skin wrinkles and uneven skin tones. When we use retinaldehyde in cosmetic products we avoid this conversion and the skin irritation that accompanies the chemical reaction.

    Like any retinoid, retinaldehyde delivers a long list of benefits for both anti-aging and acne prone skin:

    • Speeds cell turnover:
      Our skin cells naturally turn over every 30 days on average, though this process takes longer as we age. By causing the skin cells on the outermost layer of skin to turnover faster, new cells can emerge, resulting in smoother, more even skin.
       
    • Stimulates collagen production:
      Will work the surface of the skin to speed up cell turnover and also work on the deeper layer of the skin to boost collagen synthesis for anti-aging benefits like increased elasticity and repair connective tissue in the skin.
